Added on 12/8: Chivalry followed up on their repairs a few days after the initial visit and since my main level still did not get heat I asked for a repeat visit from the technician. This time it was Anthony who confirmed we had a problem with thermostat and the faulty valve on the pipe. I did suspect the thermostat problem but it is an ancient manual version (and I would rather keep it vs all these new ones), but I would never figure out the wiring. Happy the thermostat stays 🙂 Anthony was quick and knowledgeable and I FINALLY have heat in the whole house, and very timely as it is freezing outside. Thank you.
